CFI 10 For 10 Anniversary

Happy 10th Anniversary, CFI Indiana! Help us celebrate by giving "10 for 10!"

Ten years ago, out of concern about the growth of religiosity and the increasing influence of the religious right, six people came together around my dining room table and formed the Humanist Friendship Group of Central Indiana.

Now, a decade later, we have grown to become Center for Inquiry Indiana , an oasis for hundreds of individuals and families who are pursuing the secular humanist and skeptical life stance, despite living in overwhelmingly religious neighborhoods and workplaces.

From our Center along the Canal Walk in downtown Indianapolis, our programming has expanded to include:

  • special speaker events
  • book signings
  • educational conferences
  • discussion groups
  • Café Inquiry
  • secular family programs, including playgroups and CFI Kids
  • and a host of community outreach projects.

As recent press coverage shows , CFI Indiana has become the face and the voice of the scientific and secular worldview here in Indiana, but we have also become your community and your family.

The good news is that our community is growing ; current polls show the number of nonbelievers is on the rise nationwide .  This is both an opportunity and a challenge for us.  CFI Indiana is clearly having an impact, but the need for our programs and services is greater than ever.  We need to build on our past successes to ensure our future success.

  • Donate $50 and receive a booklet of two Robert Green Ingersoll speeches, "What is Religion?" and "The Gods."
