November 7, 2009, on two Broward County College campuses, a kickoff celebration of Carl Sagan's life and accomplishments begins. "We hope not only to make Carl Sagan Day an annual event, but to have other groups celebrate this day each year. We hope to have November 9 (his birthday) officially designated as CARL SAGAN DAY."
