Terms & Conditions

The Center for Inquiry, Inc. plans trips as enrichment opportunities for Friends of the Center, arranging for unique travel opportunities that feature speakers of interest to the Friends of the Center. (The Center for Inquiry’s travel programs use the name “CFI Travel Club” but the CFI Travel Club is not an independent entity; it is the service name for the Center for Inquiry’s travel programs.) The Center for Inquiry makes travel arrangements through a licensed travel agent. For the Amazon trip, the Center for Inquiry will be using the services of Duggar Travel Agency, Inc. Neither the Center for Inquiry nor Duggar Travel Agency, Inc. provides air, ground or water transportation, lodging, meals, tours, or any related goods or services. These goods and services are provided exclusively by various contractors and suppliers, including, but not limited to, airlines, cruise lines, hotels, and tour operators.

Accordingly, the Center for Inquiry, Inc. and Duggar Travel Agency, Inc. shall not be responsible, directly or indirectly, for any expense, loss, disruption, damage or injury to property or person in connection with goods and services provided by contractors and suppliers. By way of example, and not by way of limitation, the Center for Inquiry, Inc. and Duggar Travel Agency, Inc. shall not be liable for any expense, loss, disruption, damage or injury to property or person occasioned directly or indirectly by an act or omission of any contractor or supplier, including, but not limited to, any defect in any aircraft, watercraft, vehicle, lodging, food or beverage and any delay or cancellation of services. Furthermore, the Center for Inquiry, Inc. and Duggar Travel Agency, Inc. shall not be responsible, directly or indirectly, for any expense, loss, disruption, damage or injury to property or person occasioned directly or indirectly by weather, floods, fire, detention, quarantine, disease, strikes or labor unrest, theft, pilferage, rebellion or insurrection, military, political or terrorist action, civil disturbances, government regulations, restrictions, demands or orders, force majeure or any other circumstance or condition over which they have no control.

Each traveler expressly agrees not to hold liable the Center for Inquiry, Inc. and/or Duggar Travel Agency, Inc., including, but not limited to, their directors, officers, employees, agents or representatives, for any expense, loss, disruption, damage or injury to property or person which results directly or indirectly from any act or omission of any person, company, or organization which is to or does provide goods or services in connection with the trip or from any circumstance or condition over which the Center for Inquiry, Inc. and/or Duggar Travel Agency, Inc.has no control.

The traveler’s retention of tickets, reservations, or bookings after issuance shall constitute consent to the above, and an agreement on her or his part to convey the contents of these terms and conditions to her or his other travel companions or group members.

Safety & Trip Enjoyment

The Center for Inquiry, Inc. has planned the Amazon trip so that portions of it take place in natural areas where the environment can sometimes lead to unpredictable conditions. To avoid possibly dangerous situations, both for our travelers and the environment, it is extremely important that all travelers obey the rules and regulations set forth by the tour operators, local guides and/or government representatives. The Center for Inquiry reserves the right to prohibit any traveler from continuing on a journey if, in our opinion, that traveler’s actions pose a threat to the safety of herself/himself, others, or to the environment, or if that traveler’s actions or behaviors are seriously jeopardizing the enjoyment of the trip for others.

Each traveler assumes complete and full responsibility for, and releases the Center for Inquiry, Inc. and Duggar Travel Agency, Inc. from any duty of, checking and verifying any and all passport, visa, vaccination, or any other entry requirements of each destination, and all safety and security conditions at such destinations, during the length of the proposed travel.

By embarking on her/his travel, the traveler voluntarily assumes all risks involved in such travel, whether expected or unexpected.

The traveler is hereby warned of such risks, and is advised to obtain appropriate insurance coverage against them. Duggar Travel Agency, Inc offers travel insurance. It is adviseable to purchase the insurance at the time of your first deposit.

The traveler’s retention of tickets, reservations, or bookings after issuance shall constitute consent to the above, and an agreement on her or his part to convey the contents of these provisions regarding safety & trip enjoyment to her or his other travel companions or group members.
