The Humanism Dialogues - Session 1
The Center for Inquiry's Spring 2010 reading group focuses on Humanism. Join CFI on each third Wednesday during February, March, April, and May. The Humanism Dialogues are free and open to the public.
Topics include:
- Varieties of Humanism
- Humanism and Naturalism
- Ethics without God
- Principles of Humanist Ethics
- Humanism and Politics
- Humanism among World Religions.
The group's primary text is John Shook’s new book on Humanism (distributed free at meetings), along with other handouts suggested by participants. For those who would like to receive credit towards the CFI Institute’s Certificate of Expertise, attendance at all four meetings and a $50 fee fulfills the requirements for the Institute’s course SEC 200: The History and Philosophy of Humanism .
