Wendy Kaminer: ‘Sympathy for the Godly: Speech, Association, and Religious Belief’
Wendy Kaminer , a lawyer and social critic, writes about law, liberty, feminism, religion, and popular culture. Her latest book is Worst Instincts: Cowardice, Conformity and the ACLU (Beacon Press, 2009). She will draw upon her expertise at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25 in a discussion of speech, association, and religious belief.
A former Guggenheim fellow, she is the author of seven previous books. She is a former board member of American Civil Liberties and currently serves on the advisory boards of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education and the Secular Coalition for America. Kaminer is a regular contributor to Free Inquiry magazine.
The event is $10 for the general public, $5 for students, and free for Friends of the Center. Payment is accepted at the door.
