The Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) has appointed “experts” lacking relevant [or any] academic credentials to develop new standards for social studies courses taught in public schools. Among their recommendations was to claim that both Cesar Chavez and Thurgood Marshall were not important enough to be included in state standards.
