Does Eating Meat Make You a Bad Person?  A Reasoned Look at Our Use of Animals

Using the movie "Earthlings"* as a starting point, Clare will take a reasoned look at the relationship between people and the animals we depend upon.  She will not use startling or horrifying images to make her points, but rather examine commonly-held beliefs about the animal-human relationship through the filters of science, reason and inquiry.  Specific areas of discussion will include the way animals are used for food, clothing, pets, scientific research, and entertainment.

About the Speaker: Clare Wuellner is the Executive Director for CFI Austin.  She has a Ph.D. in Entomology, which focused on behavior and ecology.

*Although it is not necessary to view the film in order to participate in this forum, "Earthlings" can be viewed in three 30-minute segments on YouTube.  Viewer discretion is advised.
