Abbott. Flatland is a universe of only two dimensions - length and width - populated by flat geometric shapes who live in a strict, heirarchical society governed by shapes and angles. Theories of a 'third' dimension are heretical, so when flatlander Arthur Square (Martin Sheen) encounters a being from Spaceland (Michael York), he is faced with spreading his new-found knowledge or protecting himself and his ever-curious granddaughter Hex (Kristen Bell) from the evil circular priests that govern Flatland.
Dano Johnson has worked for nine years writing, animating, and directing educational and entertaining multimedia. While at the University of Texas at Austin he studied children's edcuational television and interned at Sesame Workshop in New York. After a harrowing stint in the eLearning industry, Dano co-founded Collection Agency Films with Troy Campbell and began churning out animated music videos (the evolution-centric “Dance Like a Monkey”), political ads (“Save Yourself for Kinky” won a Lone Star Emmy), and short films (“Tall Tales & Other Big Lies”). “Flatland: The Movie” is his first educational film and will be followed by “Flatland 2: Sphereland” which will enter production in 2010.
