Legislative Committee
Committee Chair: We are currently looking for volunteers for this position.
This committee meets regularly the last Tuesday of the month.
Attendance ranges from 5 to 8 people.
The CFI Austin Legislative Committee is the voice for reason and rationality in the halls of the Texas State Capitol. At a time when the Religious Right seems to set the political agenda in the Lone Star State, it is critical that the secular, reality-based community reach out to members of the state legislature. Right now, the Religious Right is working in inject the teaching of creationism into the public school system, hindering new medical advances, and working to strip entire groups of citizens of their civil rights. We cannot take this lying down. It is time to stand up and be counted.
