Center for Inquiry Transnational Experts Comment on TX Science Education Standards
December 13, 2007
CFI-Austin expresses their support for
Chris Comer, Texas state science curriculum director for more than nine
years, who resigned in November amid controversy over forwarding an e-mail marked "FYI" which mentioned the Center for Inquiry Austin sponsored lecture by distinguished professor,
Dr. Barbara Forrest
We are dismayed by the implications these actions have for the children of Texas and their science education. We urge all concerned citizens to pay careful attention to the upcoming review of science standards and to get involved in efforts to ensure that our students receive the scientifically-literate education they need to succeed in a global, competitive market.
CFI Transnational has issued a media release regarding this matter entitled, "Center for Inquiry Experts Comment on Texas Science Education Standards."
