Infomercial King Kevin Trudeau Recycles ‘The Secret’
May 30, 2013
Kevin Trudeau is a pitchman best known for appearing on infomercials selling his conspiracy-laden best-sellers like Natural Cures ‘They' Don't Want You to Know About. Trudeau, a convicted felon, has made millions claiming to reveal important medical and dietary information kept secret by a conspiracy between the medical establishment and big drug companies.
Because of legal actions taken against him by the federal government, Trudeau has switched gears. He is still selling secrets, but this time it's the key to success, wealth, and power instead of dubious herbal supplements. He has turned his marketing genius to a new enterprise: a set of fourteen audio CDs called Your Wish Is Your Command.
According to Trudeau's infomercial, "People who have bought this CD package at the full price have written in and said it is life changing. ‘Miracles are happening in my life.' They're becoming lucky. They're saying, ‘I can't believe it; it's miraculous'.... If a person wants a new car, a better job, if they want to be happier, if they want a different life...Whatever it is that they want to manifest, they can do it. I've experienced it myself, my friends have experienced it. We talk about it on our 200-foot yachts when we're in Monaco, when we're traveling around the world..."
Do you want to ride in limousines, vacation wherever you like, maybe even live on your own private island? According to Trudeau, "This is the sort of lifestyle anyone can achieve. But they need to know how to use their brain and tune that frequency, so that it actually comes into their life... How to virtually turn your brain into a transmitter and receiver of frequency and virtually allow you to create in your life whatever you want."
That's right: Trudeau is promising to teach people how to "tune their brains" to some cosmic "frequency" that will make the universe provide them with whatever they wish. If it seems simple-and familiar-it is. His program is based upon a discredited New Age idea called the "Law of Attraction." It states that similar things attract each other, so positive thoughts bring positive things and negative thoughts bring negative things. Therefore if we simply think about things we want, we will get them. This was the premise behind Rhonda Byrne's best-selling self-help book The Secret.
If it's such a secret, how did Trudeau discover this knowledge? He claims he was inducted into a global, clandestine organization called "The Brotherhood" in 1975, where he was entrusted with top-secret information that had been closely guarded by the world's successful elite for decades. He joined an exclusive club whose current and past members included Henry Ford, Dale Carnegie, Nelson Rockefeller, and other titans of industry.
This seems unlikely since Trudeau was born in 1963, and therefore would have been about twelve years old when he was chosen by the world's top financiers to safeguard perhaps the most powerful secret in the history of the world.
Doubtful News has a piece on Trudeau's latest legal troubles: he's accused of hiding his assets from the feds.
