Ron Riles the Rationalists at the Reason Rally

August 16, 2012

Though the Reason Rally has noisily passed into history, we were just able to acquire the footage of our boss Ron Lindsay's address to the crowd, lo those many months ago.

As you can see, Ron drove the assembled heathens into quite a frenzy of righteousness and enthusiasm. This may have something to do with his risqué comments about cuddling under ponchos, but I'm no expert.

Check out our fearless leader as he passionately lays out the objectives of CFI and the wider freethought movement.

Your continual worship of your “chief,” the “fearless” Ron, is really becoming nauseating. Give a break, Paul. I’m sure you’re in good stead.

Yes, if there is one thing certain about Paul Fidalgo, he never uses sarcasm. “Fearless leader” was obviously not tongue in cheek~.

Hey, thanks, pseudonymous commenter! I’ll be sure to try and sound more like I hate everything from now on. This has been helpful. And may I suggest Pepto Bismol.

@ SkepticToo Umm … for the “fearless leader” reference familiarity with the Bullwinkle cartoons might be useful. Maybe if I wore a monocle it would help.

Paul is in good stead, in part because he’s so good at mixing humor with factual reporting. So he can engage in light-hearted jabs and banter, regarding me or others in the secular community. As Paul advises in The Morning Heresy, not everything he says should be taken literally.

When I get ready to establish a cult at CFI, I’ll let you know. Look for the revolving Golden Statue (blessed me my image) in front of our headquarters.

Most of what Paul says should not be taken literally. He’s a genius of irony.

Maybe he should find out what “rile” means.  It would make the headline less embarrassing.

Unless he means to suggest Lindsay roiled the crowd.  But they sound pretty happy and energized, to me at least.
