It is possible that one could use the recent discovery of Homo Naledi and treatment of their dead as a naturalistic defeater to the X-claim argument.

A problem with the X-Claim Argument is that it is difficult to see how a purely casual analysis of the X-Claim concept could account for all the myriad of introspective mental qualitative differences.

However, acceptance of the X-Claim Argument could be used to refute the materialist account of mental processes.
