On March 3, 2012, the Council for Secular Humanism and the Center for Inquiry continued their conference titled “Moving Secularism Forward” at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport in Orlando, Florida.
The session was moderated by Debbie Goddard, Campus Outreach Coordinator at the Center for Inquiry. This episode features the audience question period, featuring all of the panelists.
Jessica Ahlquist is the Center for Inquiry’s volunteer high school coordinator. In a nationally publicized lawsuit, she compelled the removal of a prayer banner from her high school auditorium in Cranston, Rhode Island, drawing violent community backlash. She has received widespread acclaim for her courage and activism.
Debbie Goddard is Campus Outreach Coordinator at the Center for Inquiry.
Eddie Tabash is a constitutional lawyer based in Los Angeles. He is a member of the board of directors of the Center for Inquiry and the Council for Secular Humanism. He also chairs the Council’s First Amendment Task Force and chairs the Center for Inquiry–Los Angeles. He has represented the Council in formal debates against such prominent religious philosophers as William Lane Craig and Richard Swinburne.
Sikivu Hutchinson is the founder of the Los Angeles Black Skeptics group and a senior fellow at the Institute for Humanist Studies. Her books include Moral Combat: Black Atheists, Gender Politics, and the Values Wars.
