Part One of a two-part session on telling the future from the 2011 conference of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.

On Friday, October 28, 2011, the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and the Center for Inquiry presented a session titled “Feeling the Future” at their conference, CSIcon, at the Marriott Hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

The session was moderated by Scott O. Lilienfeld, a professor of psychology at Emory University, editor of The Scientific Review of Mental Health Practice, and a member of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry’s Executive Council.

The speakers were Ray Hyman, professor emeritus of psychology of the University of Oregon, author of many books and papers on the psychology of deception, and another member of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry’s Executive Council; and James Alcock, professor of psychology at Glendon College, York University, Toronto, author of many books and papers on the psychology of belief, and yet another member of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry’s Executive Council.
