On Saturday, October 29, 2011, the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and the Center for Inquiry presented a session titled “Alternative Medical Claims” at their conference, CSIcon, at the Marriott Hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Ronald A. Lindsay, an attorney and philosopher who is also President and CEO of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, moderated the panel. The speakers were Steven Novella, director of General Neurology at Yale University School of Medicine and the editor of Science-Based Medicine; Harriet Hall, a retired physician and writer who is known as the SkepDoc; Susana Martinez-Conde, director of the Laboratory of Visual Neuroscience at Barrow and Edzard Ernst, a physician at the Peninsula Medical School in the United Kingdom.
