Part Two of a two-part session on conspiracy theories from the 2011 conference of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.
On Saturday, October 29, 2011, the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and the Center for Inquiry presented a session titled “Conspiracy Theories” at their conference, CSIcon, at the Marriott Hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
The panel was moderated by Scott O. Lilienfeld, professor of psychology at Emory University, editor of the Scientific Review of Mental Health Practice, and a member of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry’s Executive Council. The speakers were David Thomas, a physicist and mathematician who has received the National Center for Science Education’s Friend of Darwin Award and is also a member of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry’s Executive Council; Robert Blaskiewicsz, the Marion L. Brittain Postdoctoral Fellow at the College of Literature, Communication, and Culture at the Georgia Institute of Technology; and Ted Goertzel, a professor of sociology at Rutgers University.
