Episode 182 - UFO Claims

Today on Center Stage, a stimulating discussion of claims of unidentified flying objects from the 2011 conference of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.

On Saturday, October 29, 2011, the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and the Center for Inquiry presented a session titled “UFO Claims” at their conference, CSIcon, at the Marriott Hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

The panel was moderated by Leonard Tramiel, a retired high-tech executive with a deep interest in science and science education. He is coordinator for the Center for Inquiry’s branch in San Francisco, and a member of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry’s Executive Council and its Board of Directors. Participants included Robert Sheaffer, who has been writing the “Psychic Vibrations” column in the Skeptical Inquirer magazine for more than thirty years; and Jim McGaha, a retired U. S. Air Force pilot, skeptic, astronomer, and director of the Grasslands Observatory.
