Part One of an all-star conversation about skepticism from the 2011 conference of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.
On Sunday, October 30, 2011, the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and the Center for Inquiry presented a free-wheeling panel discussion at their conference, CSIcon, at the Marriott Hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
The panel was moderated by James Underdown, executive director of the Center for Inquiry – Los Angeles. Participants included Sir Harold Kroto, a Nobel Laureate for chemistry, currently a Francis Eppes professor of chemistry at Florida State University, a Fellow of the Royal Society of London and an emeritus professor at the University of Sussex in Brighton, United Kingdom … Richard Saunders, a nationally prominent skeptical activist in Australia who led a successful campaign against a pseudoscientific power bracelet in that country and now opposes its anti-vaccination movement … and P. Z. Myers, an associate professor of biology at the University of Minnesota, Morris, and the author of Pharyngula, the Internet’s most widely read science blog.
