"Why I Joined the ACLU"

Davie Griffin

Davie Griffin is one of the founding members of the Volusia/Flagler chapter of the ACLU.  She served for two years on the Board of Directors and after a short hiatus, has recently been reelected for another term.  She chairs the information table for the chapter and the Restoration of Rights project to aid ex-felons in restoring their rights.   She is chair of the chapter Membership Committee and is working on the project to bring the play “Clarence Darrow” to Daytona Beach later this year.  She is involved in many LGBT issues, and works with the Florida ACLU coordinator against the so-called “Protection of Marriage” amendment (Proposition 2).
She is the wife of George Griffin, president of the chapter, mother to two grown children and she is a paraprofessional in the special education department at Deltona Middle School .

Our usual agenda is:  Signing in about noon and lunch from about 12:15 to 1 PM when the program usually begins and lasts until about 2 PM when a discussion period follows.
