- Saturday, October 20th 2012 at 4:30 pm
- Mitchell Park, 23rd & S St NW, Washington, DC 20008 (10 minute walk from Dupont Circle Metro)
Please RSVP! E-mail Sarah Hippolitus at hippolsa (at) gmail [dot] com if you have any questions and please include the time slot that you will attend.
When: Volunteers are needed for two shifts (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.) and (1 p.m - 5 p.m.). The fair itself runs from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., but the earlier and later portion of the shifts are necessary to help with set up and clean up/packing up. However, any time you can come within those timeframes is great-- just please let me know when you plan to come.
Where to meet: Volunteers will meet the onsite volunteer coordinator at a sign-in table at the basketball courts in Mitchell Park. Mitchell Park is located at 23rd and S. Streets, N.W. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Kids' Corner Auditorium, around the block at 2200 California St., N.W.
What: Kids' Corner Day Care Center is having their annual Fall Fair to raise money for their school's music program. 15 volunteers are needed to help set up, help with games, arts and crafts, paint pumpkins, pull toddlers on hay rides, assist with the moon bounce, help staff food tables, and help with clean-up/pack-up at the end of the event.
Why: Without the funds raised from the fair, the Center can't sustain its music program. Also, it's A LOT of fun. The kids are really cute. Free coffee, free food. We all had so much fun last year.
They really need a lot of help, and did I mention it's a lot of fun??!
About the school: Kids' Corner Day Care Center is a bilingual non-profit community organization working to create a safe and rich environment for children, ages 6 months to 5 years. All proceeds from the Fall Fair directly support its music program.
What you should know: Wear comfortable clothing. If sunny, sunglasses and sunscreen are good to have! There will be free coffee, water, and lots of free food -- breakfast and lunch -- you won't be hungry (we went last year and it's quite the spread!)
