Secular Family Network: Fairfax Kutner Park
To stay up-to-date with Secular Family Network events join our group on meetup.com.
Secular Family Network is a group for parents who would like to explore how to raise children outside of religious institutions. Children have the opportunity to get acquainted, play, and socialize.
Location/Event Description by group leader Bonnie Keller: This is a small city park, less than a mile off I-66 (take the exit for Rt 50 towards Fairfax, go to the 2nd stoplight at Jermantown Rd and turn left. The park is just beyond the 7-11 and hotel, on the right). There is a small playground, and a couple of walking paths through the woods. There are several fast food restaurants within a 1/2 mile. Bring a snack if you like, but let's just get together with the kids and talk about back to school, holiday plans, or whatever. If the little pavilion there isn't reserved we can sit there (I can't reserve it, since I'm not a city resident, I believe). Maybe we can do a little scavenger hunt or nature walk for the kids to do in the woods.
To find the group look for the "SFN" sign. Questions or RSVP bonniejkeller [at] comcast [dot] net.
The park is wheelchair accessible, though the toilet facilities are comprised of portable units.
People with disabilities who anticipate needing accommodations or who have questions about physical access may email sdavis [at] centerforinquiry [dot] net in advance of the event.
