Special Guest Speaker for Ten Amendments Day Susan Jacoby: “The Age of American Unreason” -Cancelled
Due to unforeseen circumstances this event has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Join us in celebrating Ten Amendments Day with special guest speaker, Susan Jacoby, presenting her latest book, The Age of American Unreason. Her new book, which picks up in the early 1960s where the historian Richard Hofstadter left off in his classic work, Anti-Intellectualism in American Life, dissects the rise of anti-rationalism in every aspect of American culture and politics during the past 40 years. It is her first book since Freethinkers: A History of American Secularism, published to critical acclaim in 2004.
A book signing will follow the presentation.
Susan Jacoby is the author of eight books, a frequent contributor to national magazines and newspapers, and the recipient of numerous awards, including a 2001 appointment as a fellow of the New York Public Library's Center for Scholars and Writers. She is a panelist for On Faith, a blog published by The Washington Post and Newsweek. Jacoby is also program director of the Center for Inquiry in New York City.
