This group will serve as a forum for school-aged youth to discuss what secular humanism is and to explore the development and practice of secular values, morals, and ethics.  This group will delve into issues of social justice, ethical dilemmas, and other issues as they come up.  The group is expected to be participatory and draw upon youths’ experiences and interests.  Parents are welcome to attend the group or can take the opportunity to socialize with other secular parents.

Youth will be separated into two discussion groups based on age.  Discussion will be led by adults, but will be highly participatory.

We will also spend a portion of this time working on our gardening activity, which will take place over the course of the spring and early summer.

We will be working from "It's Up to You...What Do You Do?" by Sandra McLeod Humphrey.  This can be purchased at CFI-DC at 621 Pennsylvania Ave., SE (FOCs receive a 15% discount on books purchased at the Center), online at prometheusbooks.com, or at your local bookstore or library.

Please RSVP to Anna Holster at (202) 546-2331 or aholster@centerforinquiry.net with your children’s names and ages.

These discussion groups will also be posted on our meetup group at www.meetup.com/PerplexedParents .
