Obama Acknowledges Non-Believers
January 21, 2009
As most of you are probably already aware, Obama took a substantial step forward in acknowledging non-believers in his statement that:
"For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and non-believers."
His acknowledgement of us as a viable community with standing, and his stated commitment to the secular and scientific communities represent a large step forward. We hope that he will support and further our causes.
If you have a moment, please contact Barack Obama at
1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW
Washington, DC 20500
to thank him for his acknowledment of the secular and scientific communities.
