I’ve been struggling hard to figure out how to take an uploaded attachment and present it into a post. I had a picture from my computer that I uploaded to as an attachment because the copy/paste does not work for <img> on your home computer. It’s made for URL addresses. I even went to the site that makes this program (Expression Engine) but there was no manual for the user and nothing, ironically, so much as a mention of a post anywhere! Many forums have these programs but none tell you how to use them. Is this supposed to be common knowledge in the Universe? Can you help me, and others who may have the same question? Thanks.

Well, I can’t even enter the comment I tried to post HERE as it is treated as spam, and no, it’s not spam.

How can I send somebody the text to find out why it’s treated automatically as spam, pray tell?

I am annoyed.

I’d say that in terms of electronics, it’s more like 97/3. Amplifiers for reasonable loads are cooked, fried, and finished. Loudspeakers are the one place that it’s maybe 70/30 or so. But the problem with loudspeakers is that they are all trying to do something they can’t, which is mimic the soundfield of the INTENDED playback with whatever happens in your listening space, and trying to do so with enormously insufficient information.

At (url removde) you will find a powerpoint deck titled “Soundfields vs. Human Hearing” that goes into more depth on this.

I am finding it hard to jump in to some of the conversations without too much extensive reading. I read the first page or so of a zillion page argument and respond from the heading but no one already in the end of the conversation is interested in engaging because they’ve moved on and are talking about something else. May I suggest having some kind of outline summaries to help us catch up on major arguments that you may have gone over and over too much? It might also help new readers get involved because they won’t feel intimidated to step in if they can figure some things out quickly on there own at first. If it is about doing the work to summarize, perhaps some of us may like to volunteer to do it here and there too.

thanx,

Geez, this program is miserable. I won’t make any comment about the web master.

1. Iin the window at the bottom of the program, it keeps saying I’m the only one on the board even when there are obviously quite a few members on.

2. I wanted to refer to a member who was here a while ago. He has as part of his name, Gary, but not Garythehuman. So I went to the membership list and typed Gary in the search. I got a list of hundreds posts, almost all by or referring to Garythehuman. Finally, I tried the advanced search. So what did I get. “There is more than one member with that as part of the name. Please refine your search.” Gahhhh. I know computer programs aren’t supposed to be smart, but did we have to get one with a negative IQ?
