<p>On Friday, October 28, 2011, the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and the Center for Inquiry presented a session titled “Sleights of Mind” at their conference, CSIcon, at the Marriott Hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans.</p>

<p>Ray Hyman, a professor of psychology emeritus and a member of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry’s Executive Council, moderated the panel. The speakers were Sandra Blakeslee, an author and science correspondent for The New York Times; Stephen Macknik, director of the Library of Behavioral Neurophysiology at Barrow Neurological Institute; Susana Martinez-Conde, director of the Laboratory of Visual Neuroscience at Barrow Neurological Institute; and James Randi, the internationally famous magician and escape artist who was a co-founder of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and founder of the James Randi Educational Foundation.</p></blockquote><p>

<p>On Saturday, October 29, 2011, the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and the Center for Inquiry presented a luncheon talk titled “What Ever Happened to Linus Pauling?” at their conference, CSIcon, at the Marriott Hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans.</p>

<p>The speaker was Paul Offit, M. D., chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases and the director of the Vaccine Education Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.</p>

<p>He was introduced by Ben Wolozin, a professor of pharmacology and neurology at Boston University School of Medicine, and a member of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry’s Executive Council.</p></blockquote><p>
