My interests are fairly broad. Foremost, I am a musician and composer, a teacher, an author, a journalist, a husband, a soon-to-be father and an XC single-speed bicycle enthusiast. Currently I am most interested in the way that science, philosophy, religion, and to some extent the arts, have shaped our history. The world is being gripped more and more by the terror of theocratic thinking and action. Therefore, I devote my free time to the study and exercise of reason, learning about history and the best ways to defend and promote freedom. As it turns out, the liberal (not politically liberal) education is the best way to do that. All people need to learn about the math, science, their language, their history and the broader international and cosmological history. All of my reading and writing and learning and living have led me to believe that we live in a world with no god or gods in it and that we human beings must make the best of the circumstances we have.
