Oh my god (hehe), someone is giving me free reign to write o.O I guess the basics would do. I live on Vancouver Island about two hours from Victoria, BC. I’ve lived all around BC but always find myself back on my happy little rock. I currently work as a cashier for a local hardware store while I wait for my nursing program to begin. I hope to complete it then work with Nurses Without Borders or a UN outreach detachment as a Nurse Practitioner though I assume I’ll end up as a Psychiatric Nurse. I spent a year in university once before studying Biological Anthropology and Evolutionary Theory but left due to financial constraints. I’ve traveled a bit, most notably Russia as part of a Missionary group (which actually was the defining moment I stopped believing in a Christian God) and to Chicago (the defining moment I stopped believing in any God). Now… now I believe in Knowledge and though I struggle greatly with the notion of no afterlife, I find slowly I am trying to cram as much as I can into the life I have now. My interests are far and wide, anything that will teach me something new. I love to read anything I can, computers are a passion, and listening to the radio (not enough people do this anymore). I love to discuss politics, sex, and religion even at the dinner table. I like to think I’m a good person but I struggle a lot with letting go of a god and an afterlife. Death scares the crap out of me yet I still find I am a slave to slothfulness. Despite this, I persevere on to find a sense of peace… and to hold my own against religious nut-jobs cuz I seem to be a magnet for them. oh! and my pet peeve is the Vatican Archives… grrr! That information is for the people |
