Bio

Single dad raising the world’s most amazing little girl, graphic designer, printmaker, collagist, language mangler, serial blogger, poseur hobo, music lover, art admirer…

Coffee addict.

Currently pretending to be a freelance graphic designer while I develop plans to become the next dot com bazillionaire. I think if I can just get past this crippling lack of self-motivation… it just might happen :]

I also love science; especially astronomy, cognitive science, neuroscience. I’m no scientist, and I wouldn’t even begin to pretend that I ever could be… but it just fascinates me. I love learning about how “all this” works, how it came to be, where it’s going… and how we perceive it.

I love the internet. Probably entirely too much. I’d say there’s a very good chance that I have some kind of addiction going on. I’ve been utterly fascinated with the internet since first learning about it in 1994. Things only got worse when I was introduced to web design in 1995… a *lot* worse. Ever since then, I’ve been one of those insufferable geeks who talks incessantly about “what the internet means...” But I promise, if I meet you in a bar or at a party or something, I won’t bore you with it all… unless, of course, you start it.

I’m probably pretty annoying in my convictions about skepticism and rationalism. I have a really bad habit of playing devil’s advocate. I know this is true, and it’s a habit I’m trying to break. I realize that “pointing out other points of view” can easily come off as “You’re stupid and wrong.” Trust me, that’s not what I think if I’m arguing with you. I don’t argue with stupid people. It’s not worth the time or energy.
