Bio

Born near Vancouver but grew up on a farm in Central Alberta.  Worked in the oil patch for most of my life.
None of my family or early friends talked much about religion.  We said grace before supper every night when I was really young and said the Lords Prayer at school until grade 4 or 5.  Went to the little country church with my sister (Mom dropped us off and picked us up) until about the age of 10.  After those influences, nothing religious in my life until college.
At college I met some religious folks and we went to a few random churches, but they all sounded crazy to me since by then I had some education and life experience under my belt.
Once it was a part of my life again, I thought about religion and came to the simple conclusion that god(s) are a nasty meme that I didn’t want to be a part of.
I now have tons of friends that are uber religious and we have the odd long chat, but nothing where I can be honest with how I view religion for fear that they’ll be offended [look at it from their point of view…].
I love science and reading the ‘new atheists’ (Dawkins, Hitchens, Harris, etc.) and older guys like Sagan, Gould and Feynman; basically any good science popularizer.  If there are other writers out there you want to direct me towards PLEASE DO!!

Cheers
