Why was my account and post deleted?

Could a moderator delete a mistaken message of mine, thank-you. I posted twice that day, once to the correct thread, and once to a mistaken thread. Its #2 in the “Gulf Oil Blog.uga.edu” thread of the Science and Technology forum.

I placed a post on the thread where a Christian asks for an “intelligent discussion about Christianity”. It took me well over an hour to write and ended with a ten-book list for Johnny, the Christian. I wasn’t nice in the post but what should be expected, as was made clear by George in his post at the beginning of then thread.

Occam went to my post and deleted it saying it was a copy of #117 on the Minaret thread - since there are only 86 posts on this thread his claim is bunk. He may not like what I say but he does not have the right to remove it - I want it back. When the administrators start deleting our posts because they don’t like them this is censorship and we need to come together about it.

Comments, please. This is not the first time that Occam has pulled ran k on me without a sound argument based on the regulations. Anyone else having trouble?

This shows up at the end of the original post on the Secrets of the Freemasons can be found in the Temple of Solomon in the politics and social issues area. When people put these word salads at the end of their posts it screws up internet searches. It is a bogus way to draw attention to the theory this person is trying to espouse. I’m not saying this person can’t post on whatever crackpot theory they want. But the stuff above is just unfair hijacking. I hate it when that crap happens to me. Are you guys going to do something about it? Even just edit the first post and take this bait out?

I guess you have seen the obscene pix that have invaded the forums?

I just had to sign up again as a new user. Apparently my username had been deleted, despite the fact that I remain active on the forums and contribute time and energy to both the forums and to the organizations. Moreover, all my past posts to the forums have been deleted. I find this highly irregular. Can someone explain why this was done, please? I am a past Executive Director, a current Senior Fellow of CFI, and an Associate Editor of Free Inquiry, so this strikes me as bizarre, unless there was a wholesale scrubbing of the forums and past posts that I was unfamiliar with. Seems unlike Free Inquiry, if so. Looking forward to receiving some sort of explanation.

Hi Doug -

I find it interesting that my critiques of Nickell, Mazur and Radford were considered to contain abusive language and I was given official warnings by you for that (and I accept in good grace that you were right to do so), yet when I visit other threads (Chris Hedges for example), I find that what I had written was positively restrained compared to the flame-throwing happening there - and yet no warnings? I will refrain from speculation…

Does anyone know how to remove an old avatar and replace it with a new one? I tried removing the old one and replacing it with a new one but the old one was still there and the new one was nowhere in site.

cgallaga, this is arrogant, rude, insulting, and demeaning of others. Even post #13 in this thread, also yours, was rude too. Now I don’t know what the issue is that you seem to have with redcrayon’s post, but please stop with the demeaning attitude. People are here to share thoughts, opinions, ideas, etc, not be insulted and demeaned. You may not share the ideas, thoughts, opinions, etc that people post or not understand why they say things or ask questions, but that does not mean you have to be rude in your responses.

I respectfully disagree, and wonder if this has more to do with some personal issue, and our discussion on vegetarians. Other mods please weigh in.

Edit to add: Sorry I just remembered that the forum rules do not allow me to question this warning here. Mods please move my challenge to the proper forum.
