[quote author="Anonymous"]To correct the Guest’s post,
TOP TEN SIGNS THAT YOU ARE AN UNQUESTIONING CHRISTIAN…
An “Unquestioning Christian” is an oxymoron - and therefore does not concern me - as shown by the following Biblical verse:
Acts 17:11
“Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”
Christians are supposed to question their beliefs and that which they are taught, which therefore nullifies your former post. I suggest that you don’t assume what Christians believe and then slam that assumption because clearly you have little idea as shown above.
Is your conclusion logical? The Bereans were questioning what Paul was saying, not the validity of their ‘Holy Scriptures’ and religion itself. Christians are supposed to have faith and not doubt, like in James 1:5-8. Perhaps there are denominations that encourage questioning one’s belief, but that idea is quite unbiblical.
The arguments for God in the Bible are very shallow. Like in Hebrews where it says that every house has a builder but the one who built all things is God—this is a very shallow argument for God’s existence. Or in Job 12:7-10 where we are told to ask the earth/fish/animals and they will tell us that God made them—where is the questioning? Questioning fish? Or Romans 1:19-20—we allegedly see God’s power through the things he has made. These arguments no longer carry any weight. They only carried weight when we were ignorant of natural phenomena.
While I find the judgmental nature of some of the atheists on the board disappointing, I have to agree that Christianity has many mindless followers since the Bible encourages such.
