Our newspaper had an article by Maria Sanminiatelli of the Associated Press today on Hitchen’s new book “The Portable Atheist”, where he has edited an anthology of contributions from Lucretius, Spinoza to Mark Twain to Salman Rushdie. I apologize if someone posted about this book during two weeks in Nov when I was traveling—did not find another post.

Thanks Jackson.  I managed to leaf through the contents at the bookshop the other day.  I don’t think that I’m prepared to committing the time to reading it, because it’s essentially an anthology of secondary sources, but its contents pointed me in the direction of a few sources that I may consult independently.

The articles that you linked in provided a nice side note.  The Yahoo story startled me a bit when I saw it quote Hitchens as claiming that Mozart was an atheist.  I find that a little hard to believe, considering the masses and such, but I would be curious to hear what Hitchens means by this.  The USA Today article was also nice because it is itself an excerpt of Hitchens’ words from the book.

Thanks for posting that, Jackson. It’s something I’ll keep an eye out for when I’m in a bookstore next.

We have got to stop those atheists from moving around.

They are just getting totally out of control.  LOL

What happened to the stationary atheists of the good olde days?

I picked up this book recently. What I like about it is that there are numerous view points from different people that all give good credible arguments against religion and intelligent design.
