[quote author="advocatus"]Too broad a question. What do you mean by pop culture? I like pop music, as long as it’s from my day—70s or 80s—but I just don’t “get” modern music.
This seems common. Apparently, music just doesn’t effect people the same way as they grow older, though the quality is probably pretty much the same.
I am an indie music lover, which I think might not fall under the umbrella of pop culture. I love watching 24 and got into Lost when I found out the writer is from my high school. I am a devoted sports fan which is definitely part of US pop culture.
But I’m not very money oriented at the moment. Money is very pop culture.
I also find the trite political statements of pop culture icons annoying. I think hollywood success can corrupt critical thinking skills and lead to groupthink.
I am anti-groupthink, and pop culture is pro-groupthink.
