Greetings,
I’m a new Secular Humanist, having recently converted from “evangelical” atheism. I was one of those atheists who hated Christians and other religions. Hate is not an American value. I have read several forum topics and hope to learn more from the diversity of people here. Literally I am scientifically illiterate besides questioning everything and the scientific method. I enjoy reading and learning.
In addition to me being a non-believer, I am actively involved with social change activism. Selling the street newspaper Real Change (http://realchangenews.org) has connected me with my community. After being homeless for a year, I’ve learned a lot about poverty issues and social and economic injustices. Currently I have been invited to join the board of the Panza Committee which represents a tent city called Camp Quixote (homeless encampment). This coming Sunday, I am attending church for the first time in years - Olympia Unitarian Universalist, who is currently hosting the homeless encampment.
Otherwise I am returning to school this summer. Taking Cultural Anthropology and Introduction to Sociology.
Peace,
Chad Tudor
