On August 3, 2009, the Center for Inquiry – Los Angeles presented a lecture by William R. Clark entitled “Bracing for Armageddon? The Science and Politics of Bioterrorism in America.” Dr. Clark was introduced by James Underdown, executive director of the Center for Inquiry-Los Angeles.
The nation has spent tens of billions of dollars to c
ombat exotic bioterrorist threats. Dr. Clark contends that in doing so it has failed to prepare adequately for the far greater dangers of natural outbreaks of pandemic disease.
