Has anybody heard of this? In a nutshell, take a classic like, say, Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, add robots and stuff and you get Android Karenina. And the list goes on: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters,...unbelievable.

Yup.  I rather like it.  Well, some of it.  Most of it’s actually pretty boring.  A couple months ago I read an anthology book called Classics Mutilated that had several rather good stories in it.  My favorite was Fairest of Them All which is basically Alice (you know, Lewis Carroll’s) meets Snow White meets Lovecraft.

The stories are timeless and lend themselves to a wide range of improvisation. How many interpretations have there been on the story of Faust?

Sure, people use “improvisation” in everything. The other day, for example, I was told that beer mixed with orange juice is the best. People are weird. Or really bored. Or both.
