Does anyone remember a news story reported on Point of Inquiry where they said federal funding for student loans was shut off to majors of evolutionary biology, or some field related to evolution? If I remember the story correctly, the feds made an announcement about this, public reaction was bad, and they turned it back fairly quickly, or maybe they announced that it was an accident and they didn’t mean to add the evolutionary biology field to their list of unfundables?

I’m in the middle of an argument and the person is trying to call me out on this. I might have some of the details wrong, but I know I heard something like this within the last month or two on Point of Inquiry podcast. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Deidzoeb
