http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1942942,00.html          I recently became aware of the Muslim punk movement, sounds crazy right?  I doubt it will amount to much more than what it is now, but it’s interesting none the less.  The original punk was mohammed? Only in your dreams boy!

I wonder what was happening there?  Was his intense passion for Islam overwhelming him so much that he had to be restrained?  Maybe he was calling for jihad and his friends were like “shhhhh, shut up,shut up”!!!, or perhaps he saw what was under a woman’s burka for the first time and was driven to insanity;  The song is “Bodies” by the Sex Pistols, a good song for Allah I suppose.

The soundtrack was perfect CC. I loved the kid who was just sitting there watching as all hell broke loose around him. So you think you can dance?  LOL

Music and spirituality can go hand in hand, woo fits in there also.  It’s weird how some mindsets can easily be communicated to other like minded people through music. Ever seen clips of people at a christian rock concert?, a lot of them look like they’re creaming their jeans; that’s mostly the point I guess.  Islam and hardcore can’t mix without one losing it’s edge though.

Yes that’s what the Muslim’s need, some good punk rock protest songs.  I love it!  I can already hear them:

- “Sheba is a punk rocker”: Ramones
- “My brain is hanging upside down (Gadaffi goes to New York, 2009-09-23)”: Ramones
- “Holiday in Somalia”: Dead Kennedys
- “Rebel Girl”: Bikini Kill
- “Saudi Arabian Muhammed”: Bad Religion
- “Anarchy in the UAE” - Sex Pistols

How ‘bout an industrial song:
- “Allah built my hotrod”: Ministry

Good links everybody.  smile

How about “The Shah Sleeps in Lee Harvey’s Grave” -Butthole Surfers.  Oh wait, that’s already a song.
