Sort of sums it up, don’t it.

I’m not an opera fan either, but I grew up immersed in classical music, so do appreciate it.  I was introduced to another video of this kid a few weeks back and she blew me away.  As she did to me listening to this one.  I mean that little girl has the power to bring forth tears through the sheer force of her command over and ability to project near perfect music.

It is incredible, that little body, that small rib cage her dad can wrap one arm around.  Where does all that sound and wind come from?  The diaphragm and all those little girl muscles, amazing… with a few stars behind it.  I hope her parents protect her well.  Possessing the power of the god’s is a tough road to hoe.

Evancho… I tried to start a conversation about her and Jenkins in that other thread.  In the link there you see her singing live, not in a theatre, basically in the street, not much technology behind the singing.  She does good.  I hope the ten year old isn’t getting abused as so many of the child singers/actors do. 

Yeah, the Three Tenors (Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo and José Carreras) are damn good, but just didn’t inspire me to buy the CD.  The Three Irish Tenors (Ciaran Nagle, Kenneth O’Regan, P.J. Hurley) tried the same idea, but didn’t quite get there either.  Joshua Bell can play the violin so well I can hardly believe it, but the classical violin is just not my style. 

But Jenkins and Evancho are really catching my attention, I might have to buy some opera CDs.

Kathleen Battle is a good soprano. 

I hope that Evancho doesn’t have a heavy singing schedule, she’s only ten and so many children turn out to hurt themselves when they become famous, or their parents abuse their career.

Sena Jurinac as Tatyana “Letter’s Scene” Eugen Onegin  She’s a powerful soprano.

I saw these two on the Classic Arts Showcase TV show in NY, good ones.
