Hello friends!
I’m a 34 year old born again, on-fire athiest. It’s important for me to identify myself that way because I was raised in an “on-fire” family of baptists. I was the dude in high school who was always going to bible studies and preaching to anyone who would listen. Once I got out on my own after high school I began to spend a lot of time in deep thought on the nature of god and I gradually became an agnostic. It’s only been in the last couple years that I’ve felt comfortable calling myself an athiest, but it was reading Dawkins and some other great authors lately that has awakened this fiery passion my brain (not soul).
The funny thing is, I always felt socially oppressed for my beliefs as a young lad but now I have a taste of what oppression truly feels like. It’s never difficult to find a group of people to worship god with, but just try to find a place to go where you can socialize with a group of enlightened athiests who share a strong moral center! At best, you can find some good people who are ambivalent about religion.
Well, since there’s no neighborhood “religion free zone” for me to hang out in around here I decided to look on the net and I found you guys. I think we will be able to get along just fine!
