Ugh. “More evolved” is meaningless.

What does that even mean?

I think the assertion that every “next step” in evolution is a good one implies a fundamental misunderstanding of how evolution works. It’s the sort of “evolution as god” mentality that I see more and more from atheists my age.

Yes! I get so tired of hearing that phrase. And the idea that homo sapiens sapiens is the apex of evolution.

It can be said that apart from viruses, man is probably the biggest threat to life on this planet.

On the other hand, the symbiosis between bees and flowering plants is probably the most benign advanced form of evolution. I can think of no greater benefit to life on earth.

Absolutely. This was the first thing my first semester biology prof taught us about evolution, and it should be. I always figure anyone who uses the term has not had a general biology class (or it was a really shitty one.)
