hello all! im from san antonio, and i have been active in the atheist/freethinking community for a while now.

i helped start a freethinking group in my community college in ‘97, and we had so much resistance from students and faculty, that we didnt last long.  :(

after gaining experience with grass roots magazines and political groups, i returned to my community college with Hope Perez, (i think some of you know her, she went to the summer meeting you guys had) and we started the group again.
things are goin so well for us now, we have a 20-25 student turn out for each meeting (its a small school), and we expect to have a good write up in the school paper this friday!
we also are the most popular club on campus, even tho we still get our share of hate mail and flyers torn down.

i hope that the group continues to grow.

thanks guys!

i think our popularity is because of two factors.
first, theres 6 religious groups on campus, and people are tired of not having a choice.
second, hopee and i try really hard to make our posters and topics interesting to students. topics that they think about on their own anyway.

we also get several religious students at our meetings, and even 2 teachers!  :D
