Please add a thread somewhere about politics and political philosophy.  All atheists do these days is bash Bush, but they never seem to offer any positive suggestions for making the world better, aside from attacking religion or conservatism.  A great atheist once offered hearty suggestions that if everyone actually followed it would make a difference in the real world.  Let’s talk about communism versus capitalism in terms of atheism.

How do you add new thread categories?

I have some ideas for new discussion thread categories.  Matt, how do I add them?  Suggested categories: Humanist heroes (give thoughts on nonreligious people in history who influenced your thinking), issues for concern (environmentalism, modern slave trade, women’s rights in third world etc which are all humanist issues), futurism (whats science tell us about where we are headed as a society/species) etc.

New Topic Threads

When I originally replied to GodlessCommunist, and said I would make a new category for him I was operating under two assumptions. 1) GodlessCommunist perhaps did not feel he had any authority to add a new thread as, by virtue of his profile he is relatively new to fourm and 2) I, personally as a member, could actually access an option to make a new category. Well I personally cannot. While any and every member can make a new THREAD (and are encouraged to do so), adding a new category, for whatever reason, is an administrative function for the webmaster.
What you can do is email the administrator and ask for the addition.

Sounds great, Matt.  Just email someone at CFA or is there a specific email addres I should use. I was suggesting not a theat but new categories, and I guess I understand why editorially you don’t want just anyone adding new categories of discussion (as opposed to just threads) in an online community such as this one.  See you on other threads and in other categories.
