George I must say I’m disappointed that rather than admitted that indeed the connection between a warming globe and our planet’s jet stream rests on solid knowledge as much as common sense… you slink away.

And excuse me for lashing out at a collective behavior, and not intended as a personal insult (since I don’t know how much of a denialist/contrarian you actually are), still I’m reminded of the oh so typical tactic of the AGW denialists that they make weak points with unjustified certitude, but when shown to be wrong, either blather on ignoring all points made, or revert to the blissful silence of willful ignorance. 

I’ve yet to hear one skeptic admit to having learned something new about our planet’s dynamics no matter how many valuable learning opportunities they’ve been handed.

Yeah, I don’t see George this way. Stubborn on the genetic thing maybe, but I’ve seen him admit when he’s wrong. BTW, my comment about most people coming here to preach rather than learn was not directed at George. You always have interesting thoughts George! Feel the love!

If that ain’t the favorite denialist tactic of all, take a few words out of a sentence or paragraph, focus on them and spin them to one’s hearts content…. all the while ignoring what the original paragraph was trying to express.

For the record, I doubt George is a died in the wool denialist/contrarian, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t resort to their tactics.

Now back to the point at hand - the jet stream’s behavior is being influenced by current global warming. . .  and it is ridiculous to assume the jet stream can somehow remain independent.

We are warming the entire global and all physical phenomena on that global are being influenced and slightly altered by that global warming - that is beyond “common sense” that is known science and every new season’s batch of studies reconfirms as much.

The only way to avoid those facts and proofs is to ignore them which is what the Skeptical/denialist community have turned into such a high art form. And yes, that is something worth getting pissed over  

But ok now that I got that out, how about a big group hug.
