Welcome, IDBC.  Always happy to see someone to assist Doug in supporting the historical and former capital of the world.  I’d certainly be happy to have you observe the modern capital anytime you want to visit Los Angeles.  I’m sure there are those who would disagree and claim that San Francisco is the real capital.  They’d have a point, but I’d merely say S.F. is just a jewel in the crown of L.A.

Welcome, how did you get here?

Well it all started one romantic night around sixty-two years and nine months ago with my mother and father.

Stuff happened. 

I got here because I am taking the Humanist Course being sponsored by CFI. 

I noticed the Forum option and being a curious cat wound up here. 

I am glad to be here and of course being a native New Yorker disagree with the former Capital of the World Claim. 

I did live in Los Angeles for a year when I was sixteen not to far from Silverlake Park.

And I was born in Massachusetts (as my father’s Xmas present for my mother, DOB 9/26), I lived in New Jersey for eight months when I was nine and spent most of my time with my parents at the 1940 NY World’s Fair.  I do have to admit that the subways and the Orange Juliuses at Times Square were unbeatable.
