Seriously, why is it laughable?  There’s a socialist who caucuses with the Democrats (and is a member of the Progressive Congressional Caucus). I pointed out in a related thread that the political goals the Communist Party is willing to list looks like boilerplate Democratic Party platform material.

Hmmm, you just answered your question. The “broad brush” references your allusion to the “leftmost Democratic Party” linked to a progressive lobby. The typical if… then… argument. If the Dems have a “leftmost” wing, then it must include Communists inside the mainstream. West’s allusion here is clear; there ARE Communists in the Dem party. Hence the broad brush.

Really.  So what did I assume?

First of all that Communists have the same agenda which they do not and never have. Their basic tenets are entirely different. And that even though the progressive lobby may share these same agendas to a degree (progressives BTW have no agenda to violently destroy the existing government) they don’t reflect the platform of the mainstrean Dem party as I’ve mentioned before.

Socialism has always been similar to but distinct from communism. I don’t understand your question, as it appears to have a dubious premise at its core.

I’d like to see if you can engage just these three issues logically prior to addressing anything else you come up with.

I’ve already addressed that question in my previous response, but let’s stay on point here, the discussion is about West’s rant that there are Communists in the Leguislature and the allusion is that they are attached to the Democratic Party. Your bolstering of his comment is backed by the fact that a progressive lobby is part of the extreme lefty wing of the mainstream Dems. Once again, so what? The only other evidence is that a Socialist often votes with the dems. in Congress. Once again, so what? This proves nothing except a vain attempt to defend the undefendable comments made by West. Hence there are NO Communist members of Congress from the Dem. party.

It’s a secret communist conspiracy under the guise of democracy.  We’re gonna need a inquiry and root out the conspirators. And if we need to use a few methods used by the Inquisition (like waterboarding), so be it.  These people need to be exposed!  Oh wait, Sanders is a self declared a socialist.  All we need do now is to prove him to be a Stalinist.

Rumor an inuendo will reign and only “declared christians” (or some other cult) can be trusted. We need a Capitalist Theocracy, it’s the only way to make the world safe from these Socialists or Communist who will try to control your soul and take your money.

Bryan, Bernie Sanders is one of the few decent representatives in congress, as was Barney Frank (omg a homosexual). Give me a break!!

Now, I am scared of Santorum and Ryan and Koch, and Big Oil (which are now going to be drilling for oil 12000 ft down into the earth’s core itself).  Those are the people who scare me, not the people who advocate a common responsibility to contribute to the health and welfare of the community.
