As if we’re not divided enough by political wrangling. The Pew research polls show a growing gap in religious belief between Republicans and Democrats. Ninety two percent of Republicans are devout believers while seventy seven percent of Democrats proclaim themselves to be religious. African-Americans and Latinos make up most of the Democratic believers with white Demos trailing. I wonder how this will play out in the next presidential election. Romney will want to focus on the economy but he’s a mormon and that’s a major issue with fundamentalists. Obama will still be painted as a radical Muslim to the ignorant who unfortunately still have a vote.
