IMHO, unfortunately, you all miss the point.  - - - i UNDERSTAND the main precepts of atheism

No, you don’t understand. There are NO precepts at all.

Zip.

Zilch.

Zero.

None.

Nada.

Null Program.

There’s literally nothing there. Atheism is a single issue stand which niether embraces nor rejects any other stand or point of view EXCEPT for a lack of belief in any god. That’s all there is to it.

You can say otherwise all you want but that won’t make it so.  Atheism does not HAVE to accept or reject anything else.

Now please sir, what element in this sequence escapes you???? (Or are you in fact a troll????)

Atheism is a boolean expression; nothing more or less. wink

Take care,

I like it!

bool atheist true

Only valid values for atheist are true or false.  cheese

Love it. This illustrates the importance of teaching algebra in high school. How many people would understand this without FIK’s expansion?

i don’t like that i can’t see all of the rest of thread

  This is a discussion forum.  If you can’t see responses, you are just babbling. Either work to find a way to read the prior posts or get yourself a blog where you can post to your heart’s content.

I don’t know why he can’t see all the replies.  There are several on one page he can read and then he can just hit the next page to read the slew of replies.  It’s really not that difficult and I like it better than an email group.

bool atheist true

Hmmm. In my language, and my philosophy it would be:

theist boolean := false

What language? I have never seen the := operator before. What does it mean?

What language? I have never seen the := operator before. What does it mean?

It is just the assignment operator in PL/SQL (I am an Oracle programmer!), but also in ADA, Pascal, and I assume some others. ‘=’ is used for comparisons:

declare

theist boolean;

if
name 'GdB'
then

   theist
:= false;

end if;

Philosophically I used:

theist boolean := false;

preferred for

atheist boolean := true;

because the latter is still some negation. Better not do that, can be confusing…

And also because the theist has some explaining to, the atheist doesn’t. wink

What language were you talking?

I do most of my coding in either vb or c#, which is what I was using, where “=” is used for both assignment and to indicate equality. It can be confusing at times but I have been doing it for so long that it seems natural. When I coding in JavaScript, I sometimes forget to use “==” for assignment.

I like your code.  grin

Dug this out because it’s a good place (or at least the title makes me think of it as one) for this link on an Arkansas church that cancelled a student performance of Merry Christmas Charlie Brown because a bunch of atheists got all sandy and complained.  This is why no one likes atheists.

I don’t understand the fuss. I didn’t like “Merry Christmas Charlie Brown” or any of it’s variations even when I was a believer. (It was the only Christmas show I ever saw which had me looking for the coffin!)
